Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a science-based approach that focuses on understanding how behavior is influenced by a person's environment and experiences. ABA therapy uses individualized, evidence-based strategies to teach meaningful skills, support communication and independence, and reduce behaviors that may interfere with learning or daily life. Treatment is guided by assessment, ongoing data collection, and the individual needs and priorities of each child.
ABA therapy may benefit children who need support with areas such as communication, social interaction, learning, daily living skills, adaptive behavior, or behaviors that interfere with participation and learning. ABA is individualized, so the appropriateness of services depends on a child's specific needs, assessment findings, and treatment goals. An initial consultation and assessment can help determine whether ABA is an appropriate fit.
Getting started begins with contacting Ability Within Me ABA to discuss your child's needs and learn more about available services. We can review relevant information, answer your questions, and explain the next steps. When appropriate, a comprehensive assessment is completed to better understand your child's strengths, needs, and priorities before treatment recommendations are made.
A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is a graduate-level behavior-analytic professional who has met the certification requirements established by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). BCBAs are trained to conduct behavior assessments, develop and oversee individualized behavior-analytic treatment programs, analyze data, and provide clinical supervision. At Ability Within Me ABA, BCBAs provide clinical oversight and work collaboratively with families and other members of the treatment team.

Treatment goals are individualized based on assessment findings, direct observation, clinical judgment, and the priorities of the child and family. Goals may address areas such as communication, social skills, adaptive behavior, learning, independence, or behaviors that interfere with meaningful participation. Goals are reviewed regularly and adjusted as the child's needs and progress change.
Progress is monitored through ongoing data collection and regular review of treatment outcomes. The clinical team uses this information to evaluate whether interventions are producing meaningful progress and to determine when adjustments may be needed. Families are kept informed about progress and are encouraged to participate in discussions about treatment goals and recommendations.
Referrals can be made by parents, caregivers, healthcare providers, educators, or other professionals involved in a child's care. To begin, contact Ability Within Me ABA and provide the available information about the child and the reason for the referral. Our team can then explain the referral process, required documentation, and appropriate next steps.
An RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) is a trained and credentialed professional who provides direct ABA services under the supervision of a qualified BCBA. RBTs implement individualized treatment plans, collect data, and help individuals develop and practice skills in everyday settings.
After the initial assessment, the clinical team reviews the information gathered and discusses recommendations based on the individual’s needs. If ABA services are appropriate, the team will review goals, service settings, caregiver involvement, and next steps before treatment begins.
