A Practice Built on Assessment, Assent, and Everyday Partnership

Ability Within Me ABA was founded on a simple belief: children make the most progress when intervention is individualized, respectful, and reinforced by the adults who love them.

We Started With The Families Who Felt Unheard

Before finding Ability Within Me ABA, many families have already experienced long waiting lists, multiple evaluations, conflicting recommendations, and treatment plans written in language that was never fully explained. They know their child better than anyone, yet too often their perspective has not been fully heard.

At Ability Within Me ABA, we believe every child and family deserves

individualized, compassionate care from the very beginning. We take the time to conduct comprehensive assessments before making recommendations, develop treatment plans that are clear and easy to understand, and measure progress through ongoing data collection. We believe in open communication and transparency, sharing meaningful progress with families and adapting our approach as each child's needs evolve.

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is supported by decades of scientific research, and our practice is grounded in current, evidence-based standards of care. We follow the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) Ethics Code, maintain strong clinical supervision, and prioritize each child's well-being, dignity, and overall therapy experience. Our goal is to foster meaningful progress while building trusted, lasting partnerships with the families we serve.

Four Commitments We Hold To

Assent-based Practice

We watch for signs that a child is willing to participate and treat withdrawal as information. Progress built on coercion does not last, and it is not the kind of therapy we want to provide.

Function Before Form

Behavior serves a purpose. Before changing anything, we identify what the behavior accomplishes so we can teach a skill that accomplishes the same thing more effectively

Skills That Generalize

A skill that only appears in a therapy room is not yet a skill. We program for generalization across people, settings, and materials from the beginning.

Honest Recommendations

Recommended hours are based on assessment findings and family capacity, not on billing targets. Sometimes the right recommendation is fewer hours or a different service entirely.

Your Child's Team

ABA services are delivered by a team with clearly defined roles. Knowing who does what makes it easier to ask the right person the right question.

Registered Behavior Technicians

RBTs deliver daily sessions, collect data, and build the relationships that make learning possible. They work under ongoing BCBA supervision.

Caregivers and Families

Families set priorities, implement strategies between sessions, and hold the context no assessment can capture. Treatment plans are reviewed with you, not handed to you.
